Veterinary Referral Center of Colorado (VRCC) near Denver is looking for a full-time board-certified or residency trained ophthalmologist to join our team! For a candidate interested in a leadership role, we would also consider them for the medical director position.
VRCC is a 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital located in Englewood, Colorado. VRCC was founded in 1991 and has steadily grown to include members of all specialties - Anesthesiology, Cardiology, Dermatology, Dentistry, Emergency and Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Medical and Radiation Oncology, Ophthalmology, and Surgery.
The ophthalmology service has their own operating microscope with a teaching lens, retinal camera, cryosurgery unit, ocular ultrasound, electroretinography, experienced technicians who have worked in the department long term, and dedicated ophthalmology exam rooms, each containing slit lamps and Tonopens. Furthermore, we have two anesthesiologists, who help enhance the safety of every patient undergoing anesthesia.
Our current building is 18,800 square feet and we have officially outgrown it! We have started construction on a new building at River Point and the first phase of construction, which includes our radiation oncology department, is estimated to be completed this fall (2021). The second phase of the building should be completed by summer 2022.
VRCC also has CT, ultrasound, digital radiography, an in house lab, and Antech is down the street. We have two anesthesiologists, who are available to run anesthesia for unstable cases. Our Internal Medicine department is well-established in the Denver community, allowing for a large and interesting caseload. We have an incredibly close team who enjoy working together and spending time together outside of work. You will always hear laughing coming from the IM department! The Internal Medicine service has their own ultrasound, flexible and rigid endoscopes, procedure room, and well-trained technicians. Currently, all of our internists perform their own ultrasounds.
